NanoLaserPeel (superficial resurfacing)
The NanoLaserPeel is a great introduction to the benefits of laser therapy. NanoLaserPeel removes a thin layer of damaged skin to improve texture and provide a more youthful appearance. The NanoLaserPeel is comfortable for the patient, with minimal social downtime and visible results. This procedure is often combined with a BBL. Combined these procedures can give them luminous, velvety soft skin without the time, effort, and harshness of chemical peels or microdermabrasion.
Recommended for:
- Enlarged pores
- Minimal sun damage
- Tone & Texture
MicroLaserPeel (superficial-medium resurfacing)
A MicroLaserPeel removes a layer of skin to improve fine lines, pigmentation, tone and texture – restoring a more youthful appearance. As the skin heals, fresh cells grow and resurface the treated area. The result is healthier-looking skin, often with reduced wrinkles and improved colour evenness. Patients often say that it looks like their skin went from looking tired to vibrant. The procedure can be custom tailored to your specific skin condition and desired downtime.
Recommended for:
- Fine Lines
- Pigmentation
- Tone & Texture
Contour TRL (deep resurfacing)
This laser resurfacing approach is indicated for the treatment of deep wrinkles and acne scars, including those pesky lines around the lips and eyes. At Distinct Medical Aesthetics, our specialty trained nurses will tailor the treatment to achieve your desired outcome and expectations for downtime. The depth of treatment will depend on the skin condition, your desired outcome and expectation for downtime. Treating skin with a laser stimulates the growth of new collagen, which improves the skin’s thickness and resilience. The skin surface will also re-grow with fresh, healthy cells, which will give your skin a younger rejuvenated appearance.
Recommended for:
- Deep Wrinkles
- Acne Scars

Topical numbing cream will be applied for 30-45 minutes prior to the treatment. Your skin will be cleaned in the treatment area and your eyes will be protected with safety shields. Our nurses will position the laser over the skin while a computer-guided scanner moves the laser beam into the designated treatment area. Depending on the size of the area being treated, the procedure usually lasts about 30 minutes.
The comfort level of laser resurfacing treatments varies from patient to patient and depends largely on the depth of treatment. The sensation, while being treated, may feel like pin pricks, bursts of heat or similar to a sunburn. The treatment is well tolerated with the use of a topical anesthetic. A cooling zimmer will be available as well to increase patient comfort.
Immediately following the treatment, you may experience redness and sensation resembling sunburn. Swelling may also occur in the treated areas. Our Distinct team will advise you on specific after-treatment care recommendations.
Complete healing will depend largely on the depth of treatment. Healing times for shallow treatments are typically 4- 7 days before patients resume physical exercise and social activities. For deeper treatments, you can expect 14-28 days of redness.
You will be given skin care products and instructions on how to use them. Your skin will be sensitive to ultraviolet light after the procedure, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. It is recommended that you always use some level of sun protection to avoid sun damage and premature aging of your skin.
Depending on your treatment, the top layer of your skin will re-grow and can be covered with make up in about one week, at which time you will see noticeable improvements in your skins texture, tone and wrinkle appearance. Deeper laser treatments also stimulate the growth of new collagen over the next 4 – 6 months. During this time the skin may show increasing improvements in tightness and resilience.
