Gentle, targeted light therapy with LightStim Elipsa
LED Light Therapy at Distinct Medical Aesthetics is a non-invasive, full-face treatment using the LightStim Elipsa. The device delivers selected wavelengths of blue, amber, red and infrared light through two treatment modes designed for different skin concerns.
Choose LED Light Therapy as a focused standalone appointment or add it to a select facial treatment when appropriate. With no needles, exfoliation or skin resurfacing in the LED treatment itself, it is a comfortable way to support clearer, smoother and more refreshed-looking skin.
What Is LED Light Therapy?
LED stands for light-emitting diode. LED Light Therapy—also called photobiomodulation—uses selected wavelengths of visible and infrared light to support activity within the skin.
Different wavelengths are used for different treatment goals. LightStim Elipsa combines multiple wavelengths in two preset modes, allowing your DMA provider to choose the option that best matches your skin and concerns.
LED Light Therapy is not a laser, peel or exfoliating facial. It does not create controlled injury or remove the skin's surface. It can therefore be used on its own or placed thoughtfully within a broader facial plan.
LightStim Elipsa Treatment Modes
Wrinkles Mode
Wrinkles Mode combines amber, light red, dark red and infrared wavelengths. It is designed to help improve the appearance of full-face fine lines and wrinkles while supporting smoother, more refreshed-looking skin.
This mode may be a good fit when your goals include visible signs of aging, a dull or tired-looking complexion, or ongoing skin maintenance.
Acne Mode
Acne Mode combines blue and red light and is designed for mild-to-moderate inflammatory acne. It may be considered for patients who want a gentle, non-exfoliating addition to an acne-focused treatment and home-care plan.
Acne has different causes and presentations, so LED Light Therapy is not a substitute for assessment. Your provider will determine whether this mode fits your skin and whether other treatment or skincare support should be considered.
What May LED Light Therapy Help With?
Depending on the mode selected, LightStim Elipsa LED Light Therapy may help:
- Improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Support clearer-looking skin affected by mild-to-moderate inflammatory acne
- Refresh dull or tired-looking skin
- Support a smoother, more radiant-looking complexion
- Add a calm, polished finish to a selected facial treatment
- Maintain results as part of an individualized skin plan
Results vary. Your provider will recommend the appropriate mode and explain what LED can realistically contribute to your treatment plan.
Standalone LED Light Therapy
Add LED Light Therapy to a Facial
LightStim Elipsa may also be added to select facial treatments, including HydraFacial when appropriate. The LED step complements the facial; it does not replace the cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration or professional skincare steps included in that service.
Your aesthetician will choose the treatment mode based on your skin and confirm whether LED is appropriate within the same appointment.
What to Expect During Treatment
Your appointment begins with a review of your skin, goals, recent treatments and current skincare. Your provider will select the appropriate LightStim mode and make sure the skin is prepared for treatment.
You will wear protective eyewear while the adjustable Elipsa panels are positioned close to the face for even coverage. The device remains hands-free during the programmed treatment. Many patients find the gentle warmth and quiet treatment time comfortable and relaxing.
After a standalone session, you can generally return to regular daily activities. If LED is paired with a facial or another approved service, follow the preparation and aftercare guidance for that treatment.
How Often Should I Book LED Light Therapy?
LED works through consistency rather than an aggressive single treatment. Some patients may choose an occasional facial enhancement, while others may be advised to complete a series and then continue with maintenance.
The right schedule depends on the treatment mode, your skin, your goals, other treatments and your home-care plan. DMA will recommend a clinic schedule rather than applying a home-device routine to every patient.
Who May Be a Good Candidate?
LED Light Therapy may be worth discussing if you:
- Want a non-invasive treatment with minimal interruption to your routine
- Are concerned about fine lines, wrinkles or a dull-looking complexion
- Have mild-to-moderate inflammatory acne and want to explore an LED-based treatment option
- Want to enhance a selected facial without adding exfoliation or resurfacing
- Prefer an assessment-led series or maintenance plan
Suitability is individual. Your provider will review relevant health information, medications, skin sensitivity and recent treatments before proceeding and will discuss consent and treatment-specific guidance with you.
Why choose Distinct Medical Aesthetics?
At Distinct Medical Aesthetics, LED Light Therapy is not treated as a generic spa extra. The LightStim mode, timing and place within your skin plan are selected around your concerns and the treatment you are receiving that day.
Because DMA offers facials, medical-grade skincare and more corrective skin treatments, your provider can explain when LED is a sensible standalone or add-on choice—and when another option may better match your goals.
