Botox®, Dysport® & Xeomin® in Oakville, ON

Thoughtful wrinkle-relaxing injections for natural-looking refinement

At Distinct Medical Aesthetics in Oakville, Botox®, Dysport®  and Xeomin® treatments are planned with one goal in mind: helping you look refreshed while still looking like yourself.
These cosmetic injection treatments can soften the look of expression lines caused by repeated facial movement, including frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet. Your treatment is customized to your facial anatomy, movement patterns, goals, and comfort level, so the result feels balanced rather than obvious.
Led by founder Jacklyn Sudetic, RN, Distinct Medical Aesthetics takes a careful, consultation-first approach to wrinkle-relaxing injections. We listen first, assess thoughtfully, and recommend a plan that respects your features, your timeline, and your long-term skin goals.

What Are Botox, Dysport and Xeomin?

Botox® Cosmetic, Dysport® Aesthetic, and Xeomin® Cosmetic are injectable neuromodulator treatments. They are made from botulinum toxin type A and are used in small, targeted doses to temporarily reduce muscle movement in specific areas of the face.
When certain facial muscles contract repeatedly over time, they can contribute to dynamic wrinkles. These are the lines that appear or deepen with expression, such as frowning, squinting, smiling, or lifting the brows.
By relaxing selected muscles, neuromodulators can help soften the appearance of these expression lines while preserving natural facial movement when treatment is planned conservatively and precisely.

What Can Botox, Dysport and Xeomin Help Treat?

Neuromodulator injections are commonly used to soften the appearance of:
  • Frown lines between the brows
  • Horizontal forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Fine expression lines related to repeated facial movement
  • Facial tension or movement patterns that contribute to an aged, tired, or tense appearance
Depending on your assessment, neuromodulators may also be discussed for select advanced treatment areas, such as neck bands or lower-face concerns, when appropriate. These areas require careful planning and should only be recommended after an in-person consultation.
Your provider will explain what can realistically be improved with neuromodulators and when another treatment, such as dermal filler, skin tightening, laser resurfacing, or a skin-quality treatment, may be a better fit.

Botox vs. Dysport vs. Xeomin: Which Is Right for Me?

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all neuromodulator treatments, but they are not identical products, and their dosing is not interchangeable. Each has its own formulation, dosing considerations, onset pattern, and clinical use.
At Distinct Medical Aesthetics, the product recommendation is based on your anatomy, treatment history, goals, muscle movement, and your face's response over time. Some patients remain consistent with one product; others may benefit from a different option depending on the area being treated and the desired result.
The goal is not to choose the trendiest product. The goal is to choose the most appropriate treatment plan for your face.

Who May Be a Good Candidate?

You may be a good candidate for Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin if you:
  • Notice expression lines when frowning, smiling, squinting, or raising your brows
  • Want to soften lines while maintaining a natural-looking facial expression
  • Prefer a subtle, refreshed look rather than a dramatic change
  • Are looking for a treatment with little visible downtime
  • Understand that results are temporary and maintenance is usually needed
  • Want guidance from an experienced medical-aesthetics provider before deciding
Neuromodulator treatment is not right for everyone. During your consultation, your provider will review your medical history, medications, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding status, past cosmetic injection history, active skin irritation or infection, and any neuromuscular conditions or symptoms that may affect treatment suitability.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

Your appointment begins with a conversation. Your provider will ask what you are noticing, what you want to change, and what you want to preserve. From there, we assess your facial anatomy, muscle movement, symmetry, and expression patterns.
If treatment is appropriate, the skin is cleansed, and the injection points are carefully mapped. The treatment itself usually involves a series of small injections with a fine needle. Most patients find the appointment very manageable, and an anesthetic is typically not required.
Before you leave, we review aftercare, expected timing, and when to book a follow-up or maintenance visit.

When Will I See Results?

Results develop gradually. Some patients begin to notice softening within 3 to 5 days, with the full effect typically visible by about 2 weeks.
Results vary by patient, product, dose, treatment area, muscle strength, metabolism, and treatment history. Your provider will explain what is realistic for your face and when to assess the final result.

How Long Do Results Last?

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin results are temporary. Many patients maintain results for approximately 3 to 4 months, although timing varies.
Some patients notice movement returning sooner, while others maintain softening longer. The right maintenance schedule should be based on your response, your goals, and your provider’s assessment rather than a fixed calendar alone.

Downtime and Aftercare

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin treatments typically involve little visible downtime. You may notice temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, small bumps at injection points, or bruising. These effects are usually mild and short-lived.
After treatment, follow your provider’s instructions. General aftercare may include:
  • Keep your head upright for about 4 hours
  • Avoid rubbing, pressing, or massaging the treated areas for about 4 hours
  • Avoid makeup for about 4 hours, unless your provider advises otherwise
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, workouts, and saunas until the following morning
  • Avoid facial aesthetic treatments, laser, light-based, or energy-based treatments for about one week, or as directed
  • Contact the clinic if you have symptoms that feel unusual or concerning
Your provider will give you personalized guidance based on the areas treated and your treatment plan.

Can Botox Be Combined With Other Treatments?

Yes, when appropriate. Neuromodulators can soften expression-related lines, but they do not replace lost volume, resurface skin, treat pigmentation, or improve all forms of skin laxity.
Depending on your goals, your provider may recommend combining or sequencing Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin with:
Combination planning should be thoughtful. At Distinct Medical Aesthetics, we recommend treatments based on what your face and skin actually need, not because every option needs to be used.

  • Safety, education, and realistic expectations come before urgency
  • Your plan can evolve over time as your face, goals, and skin change
If you are new to cosmetic injections, we will walk you through the process clearly. If you have had Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin before, we will review what has worked, what has not, and how to refine the plan.
